The second round of the South African Rotax Max championship will be taking place at Zwartkops Raceway this weekend (19 and 20 September 2020) and the RS Kart team have an exciting driver line-up.
A full field of 17 Bambino karts will take to the track and RS Kart will be represented by Mattao Mason, Maddox Mason and Ewan Venter.
This will be Mattao’s third successive weekend of racing. By the time the weekend is over, he would have competed in 12 races in three weeks! Fortunately, fatigue doesn’t seem to be a problem for the youngster, who has some good results to his name. He will undoubtedly be leading the team’s charge in the Bambino category.
Maddox is one of the youngest drivers in the field, but has already shown impressive pace. He finished just short of the podium two weeks ago at the Northern Regions event and will be a driver to watch.
Ewan is a relative newcomer to karting and has already shown great promise, breaking in to the top 10 at the last regional. This weekend will be his biggest challenge yet, as he takes on young karters from across the country.
Josh Le Roux will be making his long-awaited debut with the team. He will be competing in Senior Max over the weekend and is considered amongst the favourites in the 14 kart field. Josh has proven himself to be a formidable force and although he will face some strong competition, he has the pace and race craft to run at the front of the field.
The calibre of the team’s entries is of the highest standards and this bids well for the future of post Covid-19 motorsport and the team in particular.
